In the heart of Christchurch city, in the Arts precinct and bordering Victoria Park, Cathedral Square and with a prime riverside location; only minutes away from hotels, restaurants and retail.  188 Oxford Terrace, Christchurch.

What are Te Pae Christchurch’s opening hours?

The Te Pae Christchurch administration office is open from 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday.  The centre’s operational hours will vary depending on the events being held.

How far is the airport from Te Pae Christchurch and what type of transportation is available?

Taxis, rideshare cars and buses are available to and from the airport. The Christchurch Airport is 15kms from Te Pae Christchurch, with an average drive time of 15-20 minutes.

Who do I get in touch with about shooting film, or taking photos at Te Pae Christchurch?

Am I able to order services when on-site?

As an exhibitor, you can order a limited number of services on-site, however we cannot guarantee availability of all services. Orders can only be processed at the Exhibitor Services Desk

Can I use alcohol as a prize or give away at my stand during the exhibition.

ALCOHOL AS PRIZES ON STAND - NOT PERMITTED

Under the Gambling Act 2003 (the Act) and Gambling (Prohibited Property) Regulations 2005 it is an offence to offer or use alcohol as a prize for gambling activities, for example raffle prize.

If I have a custom stand at an exhibition, am I required to get approval from Te Pae Christchurch ?

Yes, you will be required to submit a render of your custom stand highlighting dimensions and structural elements along with an Te Pae Christchurch Application Form - Custom Build Plans application form

If I intend on providing for and/or beverage samples at Te Pae Christchurch , are there any permits that I must gain?

Yes, you must submit your Food and Beverage Sampling permit.

Are there any deadlines that I need to be aware of for ordering services or submitting permits?

All exhibitor orders and permit forms must be submitted at least fourteen (14) days out for the first move in day.

Do I have to pay for ordered services upfront?

All exhibitor orders must be paid in full at least five (5) business days ahead of the first move-in day of your event. If payment has not been received, the ordered services will not be provided.

Who can we direct our freight enquiries to?

We recommend Method Logistic for your freight. They can assist with storage prior to your pack in and bump out time slots and will also provide storage during the exhibition.

Who manages deliveries at the Convention Centre Loading Dock?

If you book porterage services, Te Pae will handle the delivery of your items from and to the loading dock directly to your stand during both pack-in and pack-out. If you do not book porterage, exhibitors will need to access the loading dock themselves to collect their deliveries during pack-in and to place their packages for collection during pack-out.

What options are available for the delivery and collection of items?

We recommend using Method Logistics for your freight needs. Their services include delivery of items to your stand, arrangement of storage during the event and pickup of outbound freight during pack out. Exhibitors also have the option to arrange these logistics services directly with courier companies. Please ensure that Te Pae labels are used for both incoming and outgoing items.

What if I have multiple deliveries?

Multiple deliveries can be accommodated, however, it is recommended to consolidate items where possible for a single delivery. This will minimise the risk of items being misplaced and is likely more cost effective. Te Pae Christchurch porterage services will then be used between the loading dock and the event space.

When making a delivery, can I park my car in the Loading Dock?

The loading docks are NO PARKING zones. Exhibitors can access the loading dock for a maximum of 15 minutes to drop off their goods, but the driver must stay with the vehicle. Once deliveries are unloaded, the vehicle must leave the loading dock and park elsewhere.

Is the loading dock available at all times on pack-in and out days?

No. The loading dock is only available during specific times for pack-in and pack-out for exhibitors. Please refer to the event schedule for exact times and access details.

Is it mandatory to have all electrical items tested and tagged before the event?

Yes. All electrical items must be tested and tagged before the event. If you need this service, Te Pae can provide it (subject to availability). Otherwise, it will be necessary for the client or exhibitor to arrange for external testing and tagging services.

What is included in our porterage service?

Porter services include the transportation of bulky hand-held goods to and from vehicles in the loading dock to the specific function room, exhibition hall and/or exhibition booth/stand. Porter services should be pre-arranged and paid in advance to guarantee service. Charges are based per hour or part thereof, unless indicated otherwise.

As an exhibitor or an exhibitor's supplier, can I take my items directly to my stand?

Yes, small items can be carried by hand to your stand.

How do I access Te Pae Christchurch?

Te Pae Christchurch can be accessed by delegates at 188 Oxford Terrace. Please see map

Where can I park my vehicle?

There is no carpark located at Te Pae Christchurch. There are however secure car parks located near the centre.

Where can I park my bike?

There are bike hoops located on Oxford Terrace outside Te Pae Christchurch and covered bike parking facilities are available in close proximity to the centre.

Do you accept EFTPOS or credit card payments? Are there ATMs in the centre?

Te Pae Christchurch is a cashless facility. EFTPOS and credit card payments are accepted at Te Pae Christchurch.  The closest ATM is located at Tūranga Central Library on Colombo Street.

Can I smoke at Te Pae Christchurch?

Te Pae Christchurch is a non-smoking venue. Smoking within the venue is prohibited, this includes vapes and e-cigarettes.

Do you have a Prayer room?

Te Pae does not have a dedicated prayer room, but please speak to your event organiser who may have arranged this facility. Alternatively speak to our Guest Assistants at the front desk, they may be able to provide a quiet space for you.

Is there a Parents room?

Te Pae Christchurch has accessible parenting room equipped with a feeding area, change table and food preparation area. It is located on the Ground Floor.

I left something behind after an event. How do I reach the lost and found department?

All lost property is held at the Guest Services Desk, located on the Ground Floor Foyer. Following an event, all lost and found items, except for those deemed perishable, are catalogued and stored for 30 days. After that period, articles may be disposed of at the discretion of the centre, with no further claim available to those items. If you have left something behind, please call Reception on +64 3 266 1400 and provide a description of the item.

Do you have any restrictions on the type of camera I can bring?

Small digital cameras for personal use are accepted at most events, but the flash must be turned off. Professional cameras are not permitted inside the venue at any time. Cameras with detachable lenses or fixed lenses that extend more than 5cm from the body of the camera are also prohibited. These restrictions are subject to change at any time based on individual event requirements. Video cameras and audio recording devices are not permitted at any event. The use of selfie sticks is not permitted due to safety concerns and patron enjoyment.

Are there cloak rooms I can store my items? eg coat, umbrella, bag

Our cloak room facility is located at the Guest Services Desk in the Ground Floor Foyer and is free for guests to use. Please note, the location of additional cloak rooms may vary depending on the event. Our Guest Assistants can assist you.

Is there a venue dress code?

All guests in attendance are required to be fully dressed and wear shoes at all times for their own safety. Please note that some events may have a specific dress code. Please refer to our terms and conditions of entry.

Is there a First Aid room?

Te Pae has a dedicated First Aid room available.  For first aid and medical assistance during an event, please contact a member of the Te Pae team or see the Guest Services Desk in the Ground Floor Foyer. If you require safe syringe disposal facilities, please seek assistance from the First Aid team, or see the Guest Services Desk in the Ground Floor Foyer.

What do I do if I have to bring medication into the venue?

If you have a medical condition that requires you to carry medication (eg. EpiPens or Insulin pens) please let security know that you have these items with you upon arrival.

Can I use a pram in the centre?

Prams are not permitted in the venue seating areas and must be checked in at the Guest Services Desk on the Ground Floor. Please check with our Guest Assistants upon arrival as this location may change depending on the event.

Is there free Wi-Fi?

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the centre. Please note this is not suitable for POS and all devices must be able to view the T&C's splash screen before they can connect.

Can we provide our own food and beverage for our event at the facility?

Te Pae Christchurch has the sole catering rights to all food and beverage. No food or drinks from external sources is permitted in the centre.

I am having issues with my ticket, can you help?

We do not handle the management of tickets to shows, concerts and events at the Centre. If you are having issues or have an enquiry about seating maps, mobile tickets, printing tickets, misplaced tickets, ticketing complaints or refunds, please contact the authorised ticket issuer from where you purchased your tickets.

Where do I find floor and seating plans for concerts and live events? Do you have allocated standing spaces?

For concerts, please check the event floor plan on the Ticketek website.

Do you have any restrictions around iPads/Tablets/smart devices?

For the comfort of patrons and performers of an event the use of iPads/Tablets are not permitted during live events. Phone usage may be restricted at some events depending on artist request.

Can I bring my umbrella?

Umbrellas longer than 300mm (when in the closed position) must be checked in at the Guest Services Desk or left in the bins provided at the entrance.

I have a sign/poster/banner/flag that I want to bring to an event, can I?

Signs/posters should be authorised prior to arrival. Any seated patrons wishing to bring signs to a live event must ensure they are smaller than A3 size.
