From a phenomenal location to world-class purpose-built facilities, Te Pae offers an experience like no other.
Opening in 2020, centrally located within Christchurch, New Zealand’s most hospitable business events city, Te Pae is much more than a traditional convention centre. It is a gathering place for the 21st century, where the world comes together to share, learn, be hosted and entertained. One meaning of Te Pae is gathering place.
With a striking design, the building itself is an iconic landmark in a flourishing cityscape. Influences of our majestic southern landscape are interwoven into the exterior, making it a physical representation of New Zealand, our culture and the stories of our people.
Our central South Island location and proximity to the city’s airport offer ideal access to be able to enjoy the best of New Zealand’s legendary South Island pre or post-event. Adventure-ready year round, all four seasons have something unique and special to offer.
The unique divisible auditorium can seat 1400 or be configured to run two major events simultaneously.
The fluid and organic layout of the building’s interior creates a space that is at once welcoming and impressive.
Situated on the banks of the Otakaro Avon River, visitors need only step outside for some of the city’s best natural surroundings.
Set in a well organised and compact city, great dining and entertainment is right on the doorstep.
Currently undergoing an urban regeneration like no other, the emerging new Christchurch city is an exciting place to be. And Te Pae is right in the midst of it; centrally located to enjoy the best of its natural surroundings and the CBD.
Experience a unique, compact and dynamic city full of modern retail, accommodation, hospitality and leisure opportunities within pleasantly walking distance. Ranging from casual to fine dining, Christchurch’s ever-evolving café and restaurant scene is a diverse and eclectic foodie heaven. Heritage character sits side by side with modern spaces in the attractive new central city environment. And with the city enjoying a boom, the lively Performing Arts Precinct adjacent to Te Pae is drawing international attention. We are also renowned for our innovation. Christchurch is home to world-class universities, Crown research facilities, start-up accelerators, and Innovation and Health Precincts.
Wineries and other activities can be found not too far afield from Christchurch in the wider Canterbury district.
Heritage meets progress as Christchurch’s historical tram makes it way around the flourishing new city.
Just around the corner the city buzzes with energy. Theatres, cafés, restaurants, bars, retail and more make the CBD a lively place to be.
The city’s café and dining scene always has something new and delicious to try.
