Direct connections to multiple destinations

Just 20 minutes from the centre of the city, Christchurch International Airport is New Zealand’s second largest visitor gateway.

In 2019, almost seven million passengers travelled in and out of the airport on 73,000 flights.

As the key visitor hub for the South Island, Christchurch International Airport offers direct flights to all major New Zealand cities, including Auckland, Wellington, Queenstown and Dunedin, as well as regional flights around the country.

A long-term partner of the Antarctic Programme, Antarctic air logistic operations for the US, Italy, South Korea and New Zealand are staged through Christchurch Airport to McMurdo Sound, with around 100 direct flights per year.
