Milk on Tap: Transforming Culinary Service at Te Pae
A year ago, we partnered with Spout Milk, a small local company that supplies milk in 10-litre metal kegs. The milk is produced just 45 kilometres from Te Pae Christchurch in Darfield, minimising our environmental impact by reducing transportation emissions.

How Spout Works
The key innovation of Spout lies in its reusable kegs, each keg saves 5 bottles from our waste streams and can be ordered and delivered within two days. Using a Kegerator, baristas can easily pour delicious, pasteurised milk straight from the tap, providing a creamy flavour and texture - truly a ‘farm to flat white’ experience.

These simple initiatives have had a significant impact on our business. In just a year of using Spout, we’ve seen impressive results. Te Pae Christchurch has received 468 kegs, saving 2,430 plastic bottles from waste and eliminating 407 kg of carbon emissions.
