Te Pae Christchurch out and about
30 October 2020
- Team Outing
Teams navigated their way through a series of challenges that put memory, endurance and team work to the test, but also had us discovering new areas and city attractions that we look forward to sharing with our guests in the future.
The adventure race, organised by Serious Fun, finished at nearby Orari house where The Vagabond Chefs food truck was waiting with bao buns and loaded fries for the team.
- Marae Visit
With a strong Māori influence through our cultural narrative – and having been gifted our name by local Māori – it is important to us to respect and learn more about the traditional culture and history of our city.
The informative and educational sessions, also included time spent learning our mihimihi (introduction), sharing kai (food) and practicing waiata (songs).
The experience provided our team with a greater understanding of Ngāi Tūāhuriri practices as well as local history, language and etiquette – which enables us to incorporate more of our local culture into daily operations at Te Pae Christchurch.
- Pink Ribbon Walk
Our team raised $1,200 for the foundation which will go towards breast cancer research, education and patient support programmes.
