HRNZ Awards: Building Sustainability through People
Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre is delighted to be announced an Organisation Finalist for the NZ HR Awards 2025, presented by Human Resources New Zealand (HRNZ).
Following a thorough review by an independent judging panel, Te Pae Christchurch has been selected as a finalist in the Building Sustainability Through People Award Category.
Te Pae Christchurch General Manager Ross Steele said he is incredibly proud of this recognition. “Being announced a finalist by HR NZ is a credit to the entire Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre team and our commitment to foster a culture of sustainability excellence.”
As one of the anchor projects for the regeneration of Ōtautahi Christchurch, Te Pae Christchurch occupies a unique place in the heart of the city. Guided by the principles of the city’s redevelopment, as well as UN Sustainable Development Goals, a commitment to sustainability has been integral to the establishment of Te Pae Christchurch, and in particular the organisational culture.
Every significant decision we make is viewed through an environmental lens, as the basis for establishing industry-leading sustainable operations. As a result of this focus, Te Pae Christchurch became the first convention centre globally to achieve Toitū net carbonzero status in 2024. As well as Toitū Gold accreditation in 2023 and 2024, we also achieved Qualmark Gold and ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2018 in 2024. In 2023, we won the SKAL International Sustainable Tourism Award for Community and Government Projects.
Winners will be announced at the NZ HR Awards Ceremony on Thursday 27th February 2025, at the Viaduct Events Centre in Auckland. This prestigious event is the highlight of the HR industry calendar, celebrating excellence and achievement.
