Te Pae Christchurch retains Gold Qualmark status
Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre has once again been awarded Gold Qualmark status under the Sustainable Tourism Business Standards, marking the fourth time we have achieved the highest level of accreditation.
Gold status is awarded to tourism businesses that demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability, alongside delivering high-quality visitor experiences. Qualmark’s standards are officially recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), meaning businesses are assessed against globally recognised sustainability criteria.
For our venue, this recognition reflects the ongoing work happening across Te Pae Christchurch to reduce environmental impact, support local communities, and create safe, high-quality experiences for every event held onsite.
From day-to-day operations through to large-scale conferences and exhibitions, sustainability is embedded into how we operate. This includes a continued focus on responsible resource use, waste reduction, and working with local suppliers and partners.
This achievement acknowledges the collective effort across our organisation, along with the leadership and contribution of team members working closely with the Qualmark process. Nicky Lowther, Troy Williams, Greg Allen and Ross Steele were instrumental in supporting the latest assessment and ensuring we continue to meet evolving standards.
While this accreditation is an important milestone, our focus remains on continuous improvement.
We will continue working to strengthen our sustainability practices, with an emphasis on transparency, collaboration, and delivering long-term benefits for both the environment and our wider community.
